SELF-CONSUMPTION

What is energy self-consumption?

The current regulations, namely the Power Sector Law (Ley del Sector Eléctrico, LSE) 24/2013, offer us the possibility to produce and self-consume part of the energy we need. A self-consumption renewable energy installation allows us to save between 20 and 50% of the energy we currently buy from the electricity company.

The most efficient installations for energy self-consumption are solar installations. Due to significant price falls in recent years, they are now fully competitive with traditional power plants. The amortization period of these investments is around 5 years.

PHOTOVOLTAIC HYBRIDISATION

The hybrid solution is characterized by real time combination between the photovoltaic production and the power generators. These solutions allow a perfect integration between photovoltaic and conventional energy production, adjusting it to the clients energy demand.

The production can be managed taking into account how much the photovoltaic installation is producing and minimizing the consumption of the diesel generator (that is kept above a minimum load level so that the performance of the generator does not fall too much) thus achieving the greatest possible savings.

Other systems do not allow real-time communication between the generator and the photovoltaic system so the load cannot be adjusted in order to maximize fuel savings.

Photovoltaic hybridisation is an optimal solution for small and medium industries not covered by the electricity grid or characterized by excessive connection costs. It allows them to reduce their dependence from fossil fuels and benefit from a more stable price per kilowatt-hour through the period of service life of the installation. SOLAR WATER PUMPING

Solar power pumping is the system proposed by I+D Energias as the simplest and less expensive way to get water to these agricultural regions isolated from the electricity grid, using the most appropriate technology for the development of agriculture.

Using solar energy we can pump water from a well or collects water from a source, like a river or a lake, and use it to irrigate a plantation or change the type of crop of an agricultural plot, from rainfed to irrigated.

In the same way we can use a solar water pumping equipment to obtain potable water, being the most suitable solution in those rural houses isolated from the grid.

GRID-CONNECTED INSTALLATIONS

One of the main advantages of photovoltaic solar energy, besides being a great tool in the fight against climate change, is to represent a safe investment opportunity able to provide profits in the short, medium and long term.

In this context, a grid-connected installation is the most profitable option. All the electricity generated is delivered into the grid and sold to the electricity company that pays for the electricity generated.
